About Us

Tinoly J was founded by Ayotunde, fondly called Ayo by her friends and family. Ayo is a board certified clinical pharmacy specialist who could not contain her love and passion for all things Ankara. Her creative mind was developed as a young girl in ‘Primary school’ (elementary school).

Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, Ayo spent her after school hours supporting her aunt of late memory with her sewing projects. She quickly realized she enjoyed sewing and crafting pieces with paper and fabric scraps.  As she grew older, she tapped back into that creativity and began to create masterpieces with loose and comfortable flare. Thus, the story Tinoly J was birthed. Tinoly J was established in 2018 as the official fashion house for Ayo’s creativity.

Tinoly J specializes in custom and ready to wear women fashion pieces and accessories made with Ankara, a type of African fabric loved for its colorful and vibrant nature. The heart and core of her designs is for the everyday woman, every shape, and every size. To feel beautiful and comfortable, stylish and fashion forward in Ankara.
